Calabar Carnival Festival

Calabar Carnival festival in Nigeria, also tagged " Africa's Biggest Street Party", was created as part of the vision of making the Cross River State in Nigeria, the number one tourist destination for Nigerians and tourist all over the world. The carnival which begin on every 1 December and last till 31 December has boosted the cultural mosaic of Nigeria people while entertaining the millions of spectators within and outside the State, and boosting industry for all stakeholders.

Terra-cotta warriors get 'sex change'

When Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China, anticipated his death more than 2,000 years ago, he wanted an army of warriors to guard his mausoleum forever and protect him in the afterlife. So he ordered the creation of some  8,000 terra-cotta soldiers , along with hundreds of terra-cotta horses and chariots, to be buried with him in his tomb. Historians speculate the soldiers were modeled after eight individuals. When the statues were discovered by workers digging a well in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, in 1974, the world was stunned by the spectacular funerary art and the legacy of the powerful emperor. Since then, it's become a major tourist attraction and a World Heritage site.

Heroku Introduces More Powerful Dynos For Large-Scale Apps

Heroku , the cloud platform Salesforce acquired in 2010, today  launched  a new class of dyno that has 12 times the RAM and 40 times the CPU power of a regular dyno. In Heroku’s world,  dynos  are the containers your applications run in, with the most basic ones costing 5 cents per hour. The new performance dynos, which are part of the Heroku XL family that the company is launching with this release, run on machines that are highly isolated from the rest of the Heroku infrastructure. While regular dynos run on a multi-tenant infrastructure, performance dynos do not share their CPUs with other applications. This, the company argues, allows for a “high and consistent quality of service” that allows apps to run faster and with better  response times .
